2-Year-Olds Class (Lambs)

Mondays & Wednesdays from 9-11:30 or Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9-11:30

Our Lambs Class is a perfect introduction to preschool. There are two qualified and loving teachers in each class. To ensure lots of individual attention, the number of children per class is limited to 12. Our goal is to develop in each child a positive self image and a love of learning in a safe, nurturing, and faith based environment.

Mrs. Rovner and Mrs. Upson are creative, dedicated, and experienced teachers who enjoy working with children. Mrs. Rovner has blessed our school for 6 years and Mrs. Upson has for 8 years.

9:00-10:15: Structured Independent Activities:  Children have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of activities in the classroom such as dramatic play, sensory table, small motor manipulatives, book center, puzzles, building activities, etc. This is a wonderful time for students to improve their social skills and language development.

Art Activities: Also during this time, students take turns working  in small groups with a teacher on an art activity designed to improve fine motor skills and foster individual creativity. The teacher introduces concepts such as color, letter, and number recognition, as well as encourages skills such as following directions and sharing.

10:15-10:30: Snack: Provided by the preschool. Good manners, taking turns, and other social skills are taught. We are happy to safely accommodate children with food allergies.

10:30-10:50: Circle Time: As a group, the class sings songs, performs fingerplays, listens to the teacher read a story, and uses creative movement. Children also have the opportunity to share with one another.

10:50-11:15: Outside Time: Children work on their large motor skills in activities such as playing in the sand, climbing, sliding, throwing and catching balls, riding in Little Tikes cars, etc.

11:15-11:30: Closing Circle: The teacher reads a story and the class sings songs.

Chapel: Once a week, the school's director presents a brief, age appropriate Bible story and lesson to the Lambs class. Children sing songs and say a prayer.

Parent Involvement: Parents and families are invited to share in special school events such as I Am Special, School Swap Meet, Fall Festival, Christmas Chapel performances, Muffins with Moms, Spring Carnival, parenting classes, and more! These are great opportunities to see what is going on at your child's school as well as meet other parents.

Parents Day Out: Every other Friday morning, from 8:30-11:30, the school offers parents an opportunity to have their Lamb students enjoy an extra school day with Mrs. Rovner and Mrs. Upson. The children enjoy meeting and playing with new friends from the other Lambs class while their parents enjoy an extra free morning. The cost is only $12 per morning.
