Preschool & Kindergarten Program Philosophy
At TVLC Preschool & Kindergarten, our program is planned to meet the individual needs of each child. Children are taught at their own level of development. The learning environment contains hands-on experiences for the children in the areas of: Art, Music, Literature, Letter and Number Readiness, Self-Esteem Building, Creative Movement, Cooking Activities, Perceptual Skills, Social Skills, and Large/Small Motor Coordination.
We emphasize exposing children to intellectually stimulating experiences, by way of theme-planning, which are developmentally appropriate. The "process" by which they experience is valued more than the "Product" or outcome. Children learn by doing. Developmentally disabled children are encouraged to join us and are mainstreamed into our program.
Our Purpose
The purpose of TVLC Preschool & Kindergarten is to provide a creative and loving Christian environment for children ages two to five years old, to help them grow socially, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Each child will be challenged to develop his/her potential, using a wide variety of learning materials and activities. Children are given many learning opportunities, but are not expected to participate in any activities beyond his/her readiness level.
TVLC Preschool/Kindergarten is fully certified by the State of Arizona (400 W. Congress, Suite 100, Tucson, AZ 85701; 628-6540). Our annual inspection report of the preschool is available in the preschool/ kindergarten office for your viewing. Please ask if you would like to see this report.
